UK: Allsports Is Put Up For Sale
One of Britain's biggest sportswear retailers, Allsports, is on the market with a price tag of around £100 million. The business was set up in 1977 by chairman David Hughes but it has not been all plain sailing. Profits and sales both fell in the years 1998-1999 but sources say things for 2000/2001 have improved following rebranding.
