The British Fashion Council (BFC) has announced that Samantha Cameron, wife of UK Prime Minister David, will be supporting both London Fashion Week and the BFC.

Although she is unable to attend any events during this September’s LFW due to the recent birth of Florence, Cameron will be attending future fashion weeks and is working with the BFC to define and structure the role she will play, a statement said.

CEO of the BFC, Caroline Rush said: “We are delighted that Samantha has agreed to play a role in helping us grow and develop London Fashion Week and know how much she will contribute with her considerable experience and creative sensibility.”

Cameron said: “London Fashion Week is extremely important to the fashion industry in the UK and I look forward to being fully involved from next season. We have so much young talent that needs to be supported and nurtured to ensure we are building brands and businesses for the future.”
