UK: William Baird Posts £11.8m Loss After Tough Q4
Clothing group William Baird on Wednesday posted a pre-tax loss of £11.8 million for 2001 as its figures were hit by poor fourth quarter sales of its Windsmoor, Planet and Precis Petit womenswear brands.
The Glasgow-based company lost £19m in 2000 when it was hit by £15.3m of exceptional items and saw its 2001 financial performance plunged into the red by various hefty one-off costs.
