US sportswear brand Under Armour has appointed Lisa Collier as its new chief product officer.

Her role will involve oversight of the company’s category management model, product, merchandising and design functions, reporting directly to Under Armour president and CEO Patrik Frisk. She succeeds Kevin Eskridge who resigned from the role and will leave the company in August.

Collier is expected to take up her new role on 27 April and joins from Not Your Daughter’s Jeans (NYDJ) where she was president and CEO from 2016-19. She has also held senior leadership posts with Levi Strauss and Dockers.

“Lisa is an exciting addition to our leadership team,” says Frisk. “Her strength as a retail leader will be invaluable as we continue to execute against our long-term strategies and work to deliver performance solutions.”

Earlier this month, the board of Under Armour approved a previously planned restructuring initiative. The announcement came amid news the sportswear brand will temporarily lay off staff at its full-price and outlet stores along with about 600 employees that work at its US-based distribution centres.
