US retailer Urban Outfitters is shaking up its management, with the reshuffle including the promotion of finance chief Frank Conforti to co-president and COO.

Conforti will assume additional responsibility for the company’s fulfilment and logistics, development, legal, talent and human resources departments. He will continue to operate as CFO during the search for his successor and replaces Calvin Hollinger who will be leaving the company at the end of the month to pursue other opportunities.

Meanwhile, Meg Hayne has been promoted to co-president and will remain chief creative officer. Hayne will continue to manage the creative functions she currently oversees. In addition, the group’s three large brands and sourcing will now report to Hayne.

At brand level, Sheila Harrington has been promoted to CEO of the Free People Group, while Hillary Super will lead Anthropologie Group. 

Elsewhere, Dave Hayne has been promoted to chief technology officer and will remain the president of Nuuly. He will assume the additional responsibilities for Urban Outfitters’ IT department. Azeez Hayne has been named chief administrative officer and will remain general counsel. 

In its most recent quarterly results, the group reported a 43% drop in second-quarter net income to US$34.4m from $60.3m for the three months ended 31 July. Total company net sales decreased 16.5% over the same period last year to $803m.
