Sportswear firm Asics America Corporation has announced it will acquire its North American distributor Agence Quebec Plus (AQP), located in Quebec.
Asics’ board has approved the acquisition to make AQP a subsidiary effective 31 August. Denis Custeau will maintain his current role as president and general manager of the unit, which has annual sales of US$48m.
“AQP has had a long history of distributing Asics in Canada and it’s only logical that Asics America Corporation purchases them,” said Rich Bourne, president, Asics America. “The goal is to continue to successfully run and operate the Canadian business as has been done for the last 30 years.”
