Fashion retailer Nordstrom said it bolstered second quarter sales compared with last year by way of successful sales events, leading to improved profits during the period.

Events included a Half-Yearly Sale for Women and Kids, Half-Yearly Sale for Men, and Anniversary Sale, Nordstrom said. Multi-channel same-store sales increased 9.9%, while Nordstrom Rack same-store sales declined 0.9%.
