USA: Bebe Q3 Profit Plunges As Costs Rise
Women's clothing retailer Bebe Stores Inc on Thursday posted a plunge in third quarter profit amid lower sales and higher costs related to higher compensation, depreciation and advertising expenses. The California-based operator of nearly 180 stores said its profit for the quarter ended March 31 plummeted to $142,000, or one cent a share, from $3.8 million, or 15 cents a share, in the year-ago period.
