Thai outdoor and sports apparel manufacturer VT Garment has shortened development lead times, improved accuracy in costing, and gained visibility into sampling materials after implementing a new Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) solution.

Founded in 1981, VT Garment supplies sportswear and outerwear to brands including Patagonia, Jack Wolfskin, O’Neill, and Adidas. The company employs more than 3,000 people across its two manufacturing facilities in Thailand and Myanmar.

With the introduction of Centric Software’s Centric Manufacturing PLM, VT Garment has streamlined communication across departments and reduced time spent on data entry and administration.

“With Centric PLM, we’ve reduced lead time by 7% by saving time that used to be spent organising data,” says Mingkwan Lotharukpong, product development division manager at VT Garment. 

The firm’s shortened development lead times mean it has been able to improve time to market by 20%. In addition, it has also improved sample one time through rate by 80%.

“Overall, we have increased productivity by 30% because we freed up resources for action and gained visibility into timelines and activities across the whole organisation,” Lotharukpong adds.
