Sustainable denim brand reDEW8 Jeans has developed a new line of jeans using 100% renewable wood fibres.
Each pair of Frost jeans, the company says, saves more than 7,000 litres (1,849 gallons) of water and is produced without the environmental impacts of cotton.

The latest style in the Swedish firm’s line of Zero Cotton jeans, the fabric looks, feels and wears like high-quality denim, and is made with wood fibres from Austrian cellulosic fibre produce Lenzing, woven by Turkish denim manufacturer ISKO and designed by reDEW8.
“reDEW8 seeks to create a paradigm shift from the traditional linear economy — make, use, dispose — toward a circular economy, which values reduction, reuse and recycling or regenerating products and materials,” says Peter Lantz, reDEW8 co-founder. “Zero Cotton represents an important step towards a more sustainable outdoor industry.”
The Frost style, which are priced at US$149-$159, feature a straight leg and medium rise and are available in a slightly worn-looking 88-day wash, or 123-day wash for a light colour and worn-in look and feel. They will debut at the 2019 Outdoor Retailer and Snow Show this month in Denver, Colorado.
