US-based circular material company Ambercycle has reached a strategic cooperation agreement with Highsun Holding Group (HSCC) to scale regenerated synthetics for a circular textile supply chain.

The Ambercycle and Highsun partnership will focus on expanding textile-to-textile (T2T) closed-loop recycling systems and drive innovation across the entire industry value chain, fostering the transformation and upgrading of the global textile value chain.

In addition, Ambercycle and HSCC will work together on multiple fronts, including recycling fibre market development, sourcing end-of-life textile feedstock, joint engineering efforts and new material production to expedite the transition towards a circular economy.

HSCC vice president Mei Zhen said: "At HSCC, we are committed to leading the future of sustainable materials by incorporating cutting-edge recycling technologies into our production processes.

"Through this partnership with Ambercycle, we are accelerating the adoption of recycled materials, helping to reduce dependency on virgin resources and drive meaningful change in the industry."

The partnership's objective is to transform synthetic material production by replacing virgin polyester and nylon with recycled materials from textile-to-textile processes. This shift is expected to cut down waste, lower carbon emissions, and foster a decarbonised supply chain.

The alliance will leverage HSCC's resources within the global industry chain and Ambercycle's expertise in recycled materials to set industry-wide standards for circularity that ensure regenerated synthetics are traceable, high-performance, and scalable.

The companies intend to advance the production of recycled textile materials towards achieving a truly closed loop by capitalising on economies of scale and shared innovation.

Ambercycle co-founder and CEO Shay Sethi said: "We are glad to announce our partnership with HSCC, as it represents the new era for circularity. Scaling textile-to-textile solutions requires deep partnerships, innovation, and development of the global apparel value chain to work in harmony with the planet. By partnering with HSCC, we're establishing a foundational partnership for circular systems to work at scale. This is how we turn circularity from an industry-wide ambition into a global reality."

HSCC is a China-based producer of polymer and yarn to advance circular solutions for synthetic materials. It has an advanced technology R&D centre in the Netherlands and operates globally from its China base.

Last month, Ambercycle teamed up with Zhejiang Huilong New Materials to scale up the production and commercialisation of circular textile materials.
