The collaboration between Archroma and VJTI Mumbai will concentrate on research and development in the field of green chemistry, with an emphasis on creating safer chemicals and more environmentally friendly industrial processes.
The partnership aims to drive progress in renewable energy solutions, including biofuels and hydrogen technologies, as well as the creation of sustainable materials such as bioplastics, advanced composites, and nanomaterials.
In addition, the partnership will direct efforts on water treatment technology developments, focusing on advanced wastewater recycling and resource recovery.
Educational initiatives are also being established to promote sustainable practices and prepare future professionals with the necessary skills for environmental stewardship.
VJTI is introducing a new course titled: “Sustainability: Industry Perspectives for a Greener World,” which has been developed in collaboration with Archroma.
The course combines academic principles with practical industry applications, covering topics such as waste management, greenhouse gas emission measurement, and Environmental Social Governance (ESG) compliance.

Community outreach is another crucial aspect of this initiative, aiming to promote eco-friendly technologies through workshops, seminars, and local collaborations.
The efforts to bridge the gap between industry and academia include securing Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) funding, inviting industry leaders for guest lectures, launching student training programmes, and upgrading laboratory infrastructure to encourage industry-funded research projects.
