This endorsement supports Elevate's commitment to achieving its sustainability objectives by 2030.

The company's portfolio, including American & Efird (A&E), Burlington, Cone Denim, Gütermann, and Safety Components, will leverage these approved targets to advance their environmental strategies.

Elevate has pledged to cut its absolute scope 1 and scope 2 GHG emissions by 46.2% from a 2019 baseline by 2030.

It also aims to reduce scope 3 GHG emissions related to fuel and energy activities, purchased goods and services, as well as the processing of sold products by 46.2% within the same period.

The company presented its GHG emission reduction goals to the SBTi, which then evaluated Elevate's near-term and net-zero ambitions against their Net-Zero Standard Criteria and Near-Term Target Criteria and Recommendations.

Following this assessment, SBTi acknowledged Elevate’s net-zero goal as the highest level of ambition currently recognized by the initiative.

Elevate Textiles chief sustainability officer Jimmy Summers said: “As we continue our decarbonisation journey, we are proud to announce the validation of our 2050 net-zero targets.

“Concurrently, we received a revalidation of our 2030 near-term science-based targets, which we are on track to meet. These steps mark an important milestone in an increasingly difficult decarbonization challenge.”

By participating in the SBTi, Elevate joins other companies in aligning its climate strategies with current scientific understanding and recommendations.

Recently, ultra-fast online retailer Shein has secured the SBTi's approval for its net-zero science-based target for 2050 as well as its near and long-term science-based emissions reduction targets.

Last week, SBTi invited companies of all sizes and locations to pilot the draft Corporate Net-Zero Standard V2. The revised framework presents a science-driven, practical approach aimed at expediting emissions reductions starting in 2026 and continuing thereafter.
