This involves the creation of a solid evidence foundation regarding decent work in supply chains and plans to construct a systematic Knowledge Management framework for disseminating the information.
The hub compiles over 500 scholarly works from the last ten years, simplifying complex research into digestible, actionable insights for a diverse audience including government bodies, business leaders, labour organisations, and development professionals.
Developed in collaboration with the International Training Centre of the ILO (ITCILO), the Evidence Hub is designed to highlight significant findings, pinpoint areas lacking sufficient data.
It also provides practical tools to help policymakers convert research into real-world outcomes. It ensures that the content is not only accurate and pertinent but also readily comprehensible.
The platform will serve as a primary reference point for influence policy development, design effective programmes or pinpoint areas needing additional research.
It features a variety of user-centric tools such as straightforward summaries, dynamic visual aids, and comprehensive thematic reports to demystify aspects of supply chains, trade, and investment related to decent work.
The ‘Evidence Hub’ also features an ‘Evidence Map’ that illustrates where evidence is plentiful and where further investigation is required.
Additionally, it offers concise summaries of key ILO findings on various topics at the intersection of labour issues.
ILO priority action programme on decent work in supply chains director Dan Rees said: “The ILO has built a strong evidence base on decent work, trade, and investment over the past ten years. Now, with the Evidence Hub, we have a smarter, more strategic way to share that knowledge—and to help shape supply chains that work for everyone.”
