Lefties previously operated in France from 2009 until 2012. Details regarding the location(s) where the brand will launch in France remain undisclosed.

Lefties' re-entry is part of Inditex’s strategy to appeal to younger shoppers and increase its presence in the competitive low-cost fashion sector with brands like Shein and Primark providing a more economical option compared to Zara, reported Reuters.

During an investor briefing, Inditex CEO Oscar Garcia Maceiras revealed that the company is also exploring new markets for Lefties.

Currently, the low-cost brand Lefties operates in 18 countries including in Spain, Portugal, Andorra, Italy, Romania, and the United Arab Emirates.

In 2020, the brand started trading online in Spain and Portugal.

In a bid to strengthen its brand identity, Lefties recently introduced a new logo and slogan via an Instagram post.

While Spain and Portugal remain its primary markets, Inditex's CEO Oscar Garcia Maceiras mentioned that the company is exploring opportunities for Lefties in new territories.

In addition to expanding Lefties, Garcia Maceiras shared at the annual shareholder meeting that Inditex is growing its other brands internationally.

Inditex reported a modest sales increase of 1.5% in Q1 FY25 to €8.27bn ($9.44bn), up from €8.15bn in the previous year's corresponding quarter.
