Launched on 14 July, the Teijin Frontier Supplier hotline has been established for reporting issues related to human rights and workplace conditions within its network.

Teijin Frontier has partnered with the Global Alliance for Sustainable Supply Chain (ASSC), an NGO focused on addressing supply chain issues, to enhance the effectiveness of the hotline.

How does Teijin Frontier's human rights grievance process work?

1. Individuals can report issues by accessing the inquiry portal on Teijin Frontier’s website with the option for anonymity if requested. Additionally, Teijin Frontier is distributing informational booklets and leaflets about using the inquiry portal.

2. ASSC will conduct an initial review of all submissions related to human rights abuses and working conditions.

3. Discussions between Teijin Frontier and ASSC follow to determine suitable responses to these inquiries.

4. Necessary actions are taken by the relevant departments within Teijin Frontier.

The company states the establishment of such mechanisms aligns with the growing demand for corporate social responsibility and adherence to human rights principles, as well as the increasing focus on environmental, social, and governance (ESG) criteria among businesses.

Teijin Frontier issued its Teijin Frontier Group Human Rights Policy in 2021.

The supplier hotline is a subsequent effort by the company to identify and address risks to human rights and workplace safety, thereby reinforcing its pursuit of a sustainable society.

Last month, Teijin Frontier introduced a new stretch fabric featuring an extra-fine, three-dimensional crimp structure.
