Set to take place from 29 to 30 April 2026, the Textiles Recycling Expo USA seeks to confront the crisis directly by fostering dialogue, innovation, and cooperation towards a more circular and sustainable industry model.

Industry data suggests that Americans dispose of over 10 million tonnes of textiles each year, with only a small portion undergoing recycling.

The US fashion and waste management industries face mounting pressure to enhance recycling efforts and curtail the amount of textiles ending up in landfills.

AMI event director Andy Beevers said: “We selected Charlotte as the location for the expo as the city and surrounding areas make up a major hub for textiles production, recycling and research. Plus the city has great transport connections and excellent exhibition facilities.”

This event aims to replicate the success of its European counterpart by convening industry stakeholders to tackle textile waste challenges, including the recycling of fabrics, clothing, footwear, fibres, and non-wovens.

AMI partnered with ReHubs to launch the first Textiles Recycling Expo in Brussels last month, attracting 126 exhibitors and 3,336 attendees from 67 countries.

The Textiles Recycling Expo USA event will feature suppliers of technologies and services pertinent to textile recycling, along with a conference theatre where keynotes, panel discussions, and case studies will take place.

The conference sessions will delve into pivotal subjects such as regulatory shifts, market evolutions, technological advancements, supply chain updates, and investment openings.

The expo will offer exhibitors opportunities to engage with purchasers and specifiers from various sectors of the supply chain.

Visitors will be able to explore new solutions from a global roster of suppliers while gaining critical insights from industry leaders in the conference theatre.

AMI conducts tradeshows and conferences across America, including the Plastics World Expos in Cleveland, Ohio, one of the largest annual event in the plastics sector in North America.

“We are very excited to bring the Textiles Recycling Expo to the USA. We had discussions with numerous American attendees at our launch event in Europe and it’s clear that there’s a real need for a similar meeting place for the North American textiles recycling community to help foster dialogue and progress,” said Zied Chetoui, event manager for the show.
