A new website has launched to provide US cotton producers and importers with a resource for education, training and technical assistance.
Formerly known as Cotton University and operated by Cotton Incorporated, Cottonworks.com now has more streamlined navigation and more robust content for its 23,000 users.
The site contains product and fabric ideas, trend insights, technical assistance, innovation and marketing. “You can access all the elements you need to bring better cotton products to market faster and more profitably,” says Mark Messura, SVP of global supply chain marketing at Cotton Incorporated.
CottonWorks replaces the original ‘college’ segmentations with broad topic areas, such as knits, wovens, nonwovens, and denim. Registered users also have the ability to access content such as webinars, and the Textile Encyclopedia.
Users can also create, save and share ‘lists’ of content, allowing for more focused and custom exploration of various topics. A companion to the more than 50 real-life educational workshops offered as part of the Cotton Board Importer Support Program (ISP), CottonWorks will now serve as the sign-up portal for those physical workshops moving forward. Qualified industry professionals can now see the day, hour, and minute when workshop registrations will open.
Existing users’ login credentials remain unchanged with the transition. An informational brochure and tutorial video are available outside the registration wall for both existing users and those interested in learning more about what the website has to offer.
