Roica, the premium stretch fibre brand of Japan’s Asahi Kasei, has had its EF fibre certified to the Global Recycled Standard (GRS).
Roica EF premium stretch fibre is a member of the Roica Eco-Smart family, the range dedicate to sustainability. The yarn is made with 58% of pre-consumer recycled content.
The GRS certification is intended to meet the needs of companies looking to verify the recycled content of their products both finished and intermediate, and to verify responsible social, environmental and chemical practices in their production. The objectives of the GRS are to define requirements to ensure accurate content claims and good working conditions, and that harmful environmental and chemical impacts are minimised.
“The new GRS certification of Roica EF will allows us to offer producers and brands to become a responsible and proactive part of the innovation process,” said Hiroaki Shinohe, ROICA chief marketing officer.
“From now on there is not excuse: Roica EF for both leg parts and waistband is the last piece solution to fully sustainable and certified tights.”
According to the company, in the hosiery world, there are no 100% sustainable solutions for both the leg and waistband.
