The hub, located in the Gampaha District of the Western Province, approximately 6km from Bandaranaike International Airport (CMB), hopes to serve as a dedicated fashion hub for Hellmann’s South Asia network. 

According to the companies, the hub comprises over 8,000m2, with dual-zone humidity and climate control, and solar panels to support sustainability targets.

The infrastructure is designed to be scalable to meet the distribution needs across Asia, Africa and Europe, focusing on operational performance and environmental standards. 

MAS Holdings said that the investment forms a further step in its strategic growth, reinforcing its position as a major apparel technology business in South Asia. 

MAS Holdings’ chief operating officer and Hellmann MAS supply chain board member, Shakthi Ranatunge, said: “This investment reflects MAS’ continued commitment to strengthening Sri Lanka’s position as a globally competitive apparel hub. Through our partnership with Hellmann, we are moving beyond traditional garment manufacturing to enable more integrated, end-to-end supply chain solutions for global brands.

“This facility enhances our ability to offer speed and agility while supporting the development of a more resilient and future-ready apparel ecosystem in Sri Lanka.” 

The new hub is part of Hellmann’s Forward 2030 strategy, with the company identifying its fashion logistics segment as an area for long-term growth within its global network.  

Hellmann cites Sri Lanka’s location, connecting Asia, Africa, and Europe, as an important factor for international trade and the development of logistics services for the fashion supply chain. 

The facility is the latest development from Hellmann MAS Supply Chain, which was formed in 2018.  

The joint venture combines Hellmann’s international logistics network with MAS Holdings’ expertise in apparel manufacturing and supply chain management, providing logistics solutions for major fashion companies in South Asia and beyond.
