Notably, Personal Care and Service Occupations jobs accounted for a 29% share of the global apparel industry’s health & wellness-related total new job postings in Q2 2023, up 85% over the prior quarter.

Personal Care and Service Occupations drive health & wellness-related hiring activity

Personal Care and Service Occupations, with a share of 29%, emerged as the top health & wellness-related job roles within the apparel industry in Q2 2023, with new job postings rising by 85% quarter-on-quarter. Sales and Related Occupations came in second with a share of 15% in Q2 2023, with new job postings dropping by 84% over the previous quarter.

The other prominent health & wellness roles include Management Occupations with an 8% share in Q2 2023, Computer and Mathematical Occupations with a 7% share of new job postings.

Top five companies in apparel industry accounted for 97% of hiring activity

The top companies, in terms of number of new job postings tracked by GlobalData, as of Q2 2023 were LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton, Peloton Interactive, ASICS, Under Armour, and Hugo Boss. Together they accounted for a combined share of 97% of all health & wellness-related new jobs in the apparel industry.

LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton posted 291 health & wellness-related new jobs in Q2 2023, Peloton Interactive 288 jobs, ASICS 184 jobs, Under Armour 55 jobs, and Hugo Boss 53 jobs, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics.

Hiring activity was driven by the US with a 65.26% share of total new job postings, Q2 2023

The largest share of health & wellness-related new job postings in the apparel industry in Q2 2023 was in the US with 65.26% followed by Japan (20.49%) and the UK (3.23%). The share represented by the US was 12 percentage points lower than the 77.42% share it accounted for in Q1 2023.
