Clothing from Colombia
Colombia's textile and clothing industry is rushing to take advantage of its new quota and duty-free access to the US where exports in the first 11 months of 2003 surged by 48 per cent. But, in the race to secure a foothold in the American market, manufacturers are up against a shortfall in locally-produced fabrics and the expiry of ATPDEA at the end of 2006. Leonie Barrie reports.
