North America extended its dominance for digital media hiring among apparel industry companies in the three months ending June.

The number of roles in North America made up 56.1% of total digital media job, up from 49.1% in the same quarter last year.

That was followed by Asia-Pacific, which saw a 1.1 year-on-year percentage point change in digital media roles.

The figures are compiled by GlobalData, which tracks the number of new job postings from key companies in various sectors over time. Using textual analysis, these job advertisements are then classified thematically.

The fastest growing country was the United States, which saw 47.1% of all digital media job adverts in the three months ending June 2021, increasing to 53.3% in the three months ending June this year.

That was followed by India (up 2.4 percentage points), France (0.9), and Canada (0.8).

Which cities and locations are the biggest hubs for digital media workers in the apparel industry?

Some 13.1% of all apparel industry digital media roles were advertised in San Francisco (United States) in the three months ending June.

That was followed by Paris (France) with 10.8%, York (United States) with 8.4%, and Portland (United States) with 3.3%.

The proportion of apparel supply chain companies hiring for digital media related positions rose significantly in June compared with the equivalent month last year, with 100% of the companies included in our analysis recruiting for at least one such position.
