North America extended its dominance for industrial automation hiring among apparel industry companies in the three months ending June.

The number of roles in North America made up 85.4% of total industrial automation jobs, up from 73.1% in the same quarter last year.

That was followed by Europe, which saw a 1.1 year-on-year percentage point change in industrial automation roles.

The figures are compiled by GlobalData, which tracks the number of new job postings from key companies in various sectors over time. Using textual analysis, these job advertisements are then classified thematically.

That was followed by Belgium (up 1.2 percentage points), France (0.7), and Switzerland (0.2).

Which cities and locations are the biggest hubs for industrial automation workers in the apparel industry?

Some 13.1% of all apparel industry industrial automation roles were advertised in Portland (United States) in the three months ending June.

That was followed by Manhattan Beach (United States) with 9.9%, Moreno Valley (United States) with 7%, and Greensboro (United States) with 4.1%.

Mentions of industrial automation within the filings of companies in the fashion industry rose 75% between the first and second quarters of 2022.
