Organic versus conventional: the big difference

Sales of clothing made with organic fibre have grown by 11 per cent over the past five years, and according to the Organic Trade Association an annual growth rate of 44 per cent is forecast for all organic fibre products between 2000 and 2005. Against this background, Mona Frastaci takes a look at the ways in which some US apparel companies have overcome the supply chain and sourcing issues traditionally associated with the use of organic fibres.
