Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Asia-Pacific with a share of 61.37% in August 2022, a 52.27% drop over the previous month. Database and Network Administrators and Architects came in next, claiming a share of 19.32% in August 2022, marking a 44.51% month-on-month decline. In the third place was Miscellaneous Computer Occupations with a share of 8.45% in August 2022, a 51.16% drop from July 2022.

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average decline of 57.58% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Asia-Pacific’s apparel industry during August 2022 over previous month.
Amazon posted 191 IT jobs in August 2022 and registered a decline of 72.12% over the previous month, followed by adidas with 58 jobs and a 41.46% growth. JD with 38 IT jobs and Target with 37 jobs, recorded a 31.03% rise and a 33.93% drop, respectively, while Coles Group recorded a 3.03% increase with 34 job postings during August 2022.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Asia-Pacific’s apparel industry
India commanded a leading presence in the region’s apparel industry IT hiring activity with a 33.8% share in August 2022, a 71.76% decrease over July 2022. China featured next with a 29.38% share, up 29.2% over the previous month. Australia recorded a 14.08% share, a drop of 37.5% compared with July 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in August 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 66.4%, down by 33.33% from July 2022. Entry Level positions with a 17.1% share, registered a decline of 72.58% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Mid Level job ads with a 16.5% share, down 48.1% over July 2022.
