Australia’s apparel industry registered an 11.5% drop in IT hiring activity in October 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.
The industry’s overall hiring is decreased by 14.91% in October 2022 when compared with September 2022.
Out of the apparel industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 3.87% share in October 2022, recording a decrease of 1.2% over the last three-month average share.
Top five job classifications in Australia’s apparel industry’s IT recruitment activity in October 2022
Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 100% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Australia’s apparel industry in October 2022.
1) Database and Network Administrators and Architects recorded a share of 49.09% in October 2022, registering a 200% growth over the previous month.
2) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers claimed a 43.64% share, a decrease of 11.11% over the previous month.
3) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations held a share of 3.64%, registering a 50% decline from September 2022.
4) Computer and Information Analysts captured a share of 1.82%, down 66.67% over the previous month.
Top five apparel companies in Australia’s IT recruitment activity in October 2022
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average flat growth share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Australia’s apparel industry during October 2022 over September 2022.
Amazon posted 47 IT jobs in October 2022 and registered a rise of 135% over the previous month, followed by Coles Group with 6 jobs and a 60% drop. Country Road Group with 1 IT job and Inter IKEA Holding with 1 jobs, recorded a 50% decline and a flat growth.
Junior Level job postings dominate in October 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 70.91%, up by 56% from September 2022. Mid Level positions with a 21.82% share, registered a flat growth compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 7.27% share, down 55.56% over September 2022.
