Australia’s apparel industry IT recruitment activity rises 7.7% in July 2022

Australia’s apparel industry registered a 7.7% rise in IT hiring activity in July 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The industry’s overall hiring increased by 17.02% in July 2022 when compared with June 2022.

Out of the apparel industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 3.77% share in July 2022, recording a decrease of 0.69% over the last three-month average share.

Top five job classifications in Australia’s apparel industry’s IT recruitment activity in July 2022

Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 98.17% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Australia’s apparel industry in July 2022.

1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 53.21% in July 2022, registering an 18.37% growth over the previous month.

2) Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a 20.18% share, an increase of 10% over the previous month.

3) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations held a share of 18.35%, registering a flat growth from June 2022.

4) Computer and Information Analysts captured a share of 3.67%, up 300% over the previous month.

Top five apparel companies in Australia’s IT recruitment activity in July 2022

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 10.99% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Australia’s apparel industry during July 2022 over June 2022.

Amazon posted 56 IT jobs in July 2022 and registered a rise of 7.69% over the previous month, followed by Coles Group with 33 jobs and an 8.33% drop. Accent Group with 5 IT jobs and Monsoon Accessorize with 4 jobs, recorded a 400% growth and a flat growth, respectively, while Country Road Group recorded an increase of 50% with 3 job postings during July 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in July 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 53.21%, down by 18.31% from June 2022. Mid Level positions with a 23.85% share, registered an increase of 44.44% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 22.94% share, up 150% over June 2022.
