China’s apparel industry registered a 14.5% drop in IT hiring activity in November 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The industry’s overall hiring is decreased by 10.41% in November 2022 when compared with October 2022.

Out of the apparel industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 5.76% share in November 2022, recording a decrease of 1.08% over the last three-month average share.

Top five job classifications in China’s apparel industry’s IT recruitment activity in November 2022

Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 100% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of China’s apparel industry in November 2022.

1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 43.64% in November 2022, registering a 45.45% decline over the previous month.

2) Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a 29.09% share, an increase of 14.29% over the previous month.

3) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations held a share of 20%, registering a 47.62% decline from October 2022.

4) Computer and Information Analysts captured a share of 3.64%, down 33.33% over the previous month.

Top five apparel companies in China’s IT recruitment activity in November 2022

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average decline of 36.78% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of China’s apparel industry during November 2022 over October 2022.

Jd posted 37 IT jobs in November 2022 and registered a drop of 19.57% over the previous month, followed by Inter IKEA Holding with 12 jobs and a flat growth. Amazon with 4 IT jobs and Lululemon Athletica with 1 jobs, recorded an 84% decline and a flat growth, respectively, while eBay recorded a decline of 75% with 1 job postings during November 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in November 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 80%, down by 26.67% from October 2022. Entry Level positions with a 16.36% share, registered a decline of 52.63% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Mid Level job ads with a 3.64% share, down 75% over October 2022.
