China’s apparel industry registered an 18.3% drop in IT hiring activity in June 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The industry’s overall hiring is decreased by 21.2% in June 2022 when compared with May 2022.

Out of the apparel industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed an 8.92% share in June 2022, recording an increase of 0.42% over the last three-month average share.

1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 68.6% in June 2022, registering a 6.41% growth over the previous month.

2) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations claimed a 13.22% share, an increase of 6.67% over the previous month.

3) Database and Network Administrators and Architects held a share of 10.74%, registering an 18.18% rise from May 2022.

4) Computer and Information Analysts captured a share of 4.96%, down 14.29% over the previous month.

Top five apparel companies in China’s IT recruitment activity in June 2022

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 1.71% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of China’s apparel industry during June 2022 over May 2022.

Amazon posted 68 IT jobs in June 2022 and registered a flat growth over the previous month, followed by JD with 23 jobs and a 25.81% drop. eBay with 14 IT jobs and Inter IKEA Holding with 8 jobs, recorded a 100% growth and an 11.11% decrease, respectively, while Alibaba Group Holding recorded an increase of 200% with 6 job postings during June 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in June 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 58.68%, down by 19.32% from May 2022. Mid Level positions with a 29.75% share, registered an increase of 111.76% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with an 11.57% share, up 7.69% over May 2022.
