China’s apparel industry registered a 5.5% drop in IT hiring activity in September 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.
The industry’s overall hiring increased by 3.24% in September 2022 when compared with August 2022.
Out of the apparel industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 6.87% share in September 2022, recording a decrease of 2.27% over the last three-month average share.
Top five job classifications in China’s apparel industry’s IT recruitment activity in September 2022
Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 100% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of China’s apparel industry in September 2022.
1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 67.72% in September 2022, registering a 2.38% growth over the previous month.
2) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations claimed a 15.75% share, an increase of 5.26% over the previous month.
3) Database and Network Administrators and Architects held a share of 11.02%, registering a flat growth from August 2022.
4) Computer and Information Analysts captured a share of 3.94%, up 66.67% over the previous month.
Top five apparel companies in China’s IT recruitment activity in September 2022
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 2.44% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of China’s apparel industry during September 2022 over August 2022.
JD posted 60 IT jobs in September 2022 and registered a rise of 53.85% over the previous month, followed by Amazon with 46 jobs and a 28.13% drop. eBay with 13 IT jobs and Inter IKEA Holding with 6 jobs, recorded an 18.75% decline and a 50% growth, respectively, while Hermes International recorded a flat growth with 1 job postings during September 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in September 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 74.02%, down by 6% from August 2022. Entry Level positions with a 14.96% share, registered a flat growth compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Mid Level job ads with an 11.02% share, up 55.56% over August 2022.
