Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Europe with a share of 64.14% in August 2022, a 24.52% drop over the previous month. Database and Network Administrators and Architects came in next, claiming a share of 13.84% in August 2022, marking a 34.51% month-on-month decline. In the third place was Computer and Information Analysts with a share of 9.08% in August 2022, a 10.91% rise from July 2022.

Top five apparel companies in Europe’s IT recruitment activity in August 2022
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average decline of 42.25% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Europe’s apparel industry during August 2022 over previous month.
Amazon posted 154 IT jobs in August 2022 and registered a decline of 65.24% over the previous month, followed by Inter IKEA Holding with 62 jobs and a 6.9% growth. Veepee with 54 IT jobs and REWE Group with 42 jobs, recorded a 22.73% rise and a 35.48% rise, respectively, while X5 Retail Group recorded a 13.51% increase with 42 job postings during August 2022.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Europe’s apparel industry
The UK commanded a leading presence in the region’s apparel industry IT hiring activity with a 24.26% share in August 2022, a 25.91% decrease over July 2022. Germany featured next with a 21.73% share, down 27.72% over the previous month. France recorded a 10.27% share, a drop of 14.81% compared with July 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in August 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 71.73%, down by 15.29% from July 2022. Mid Level positions with a 15.33% share, registered a decline of 40.12% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 12.95% share, down 28.69% over July 2022.
