Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Europe with a share of 60.34% in October 2022, a 32.26% drop over the previous month. Database and Network Administrators and Architects came in next, claiming a share of 18.97% in October 2022, marking a 2.22% month-on-month decline. In the third place was Miscellaneous Computer Occupations with a share of 7.9% in October 2022, a 32.1% drop from September 2022.

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average decline of 27.08% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Europe’s apparel industry during October 2022 over previous month.
Amazon posted 281 IT jobs in October 2022 and registered a decline of 19.94% over the previous month, followed by Inter IKEA Holding with 76 jobs and a 15.56% drop. Veepee with 33 IT jobs and Zalando with 25 jobs, recorded a 51.47% drop and a 48.98% drop, respectively, while X5 Retail Group recorded a 45.45% decline with 24 job postings during October 2022.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Europe’s apparel industry
The UK commanded a leading presence in the region’s apparel industry IT hiring activity with a 23.42% share in October 2022, a 23.47% decrease over September 2022. Germany featured next with a 16.95% share, down 30.99% over the previous month. France recorded a 12.93% share, a growth of 25% compared with September 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in October 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 69.11%, down by 26.45% from September 2022. Mid Level positions with an 18.82% share, registered a decline of 10.27% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 12.07% share, down 36.84% over September 2022.
