France’s apparel industry registered a 5.2% drop in IT hiring activity in July 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The industry’s overall hiring increased by 1.86% in July 2022 when compared with June 2022.

Out of the apparel industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 3.19% share in July 2022, recording a decrease of 0.15% over the last three-month average share.

Top five job classifications in France’s apparel industry’s IT recruitment activity in July 2022

Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 100% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of France’s apparel industry in July 2022.

1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 51.25% in July 2022, registering a 38.81% decline over the previous month.

2) Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a 26.25% share, a decrease of 25% over the previous month.

3) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations held a share of 13.75%, registering a 10% rise from June 2022.

4) Computer Support Specialists captured a share of 7.5%, up 20% over the previous month.

Top five apparel companies in France’s IT recruitment activity in July 2022

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average decline of 29.47% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of France’s apparel industry during July 2022 over June 2022.

Veepee posted 22 IT jobs in July 2022 and registered a drop of 46.34% over the previous month, followed by Carrefour with 18 jobs and a 10% drop. Amazon with 15 IT jobs and Inter IKEA Holding with 8 jobs, recorded a 6.25% decline and an 11.11% decrease, respectively, while Hermes International recorded a decline of 55.56% with 4 job postings during July 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in July 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 67.5%, down by 33.33% from June 2022. Entry Level positions with a 17.5% share, registered a decline of 12.5% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Mid Level job ads with a 15% share, down 25% over June 2022.
