Germany’s apparel industry registered a 0.9% drop in IT hiring activity in June 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The industry’s overall hiring increased by 75.2% in June 2022 when compared with May 2022.

Out of the apparel industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 3.65% share in June 2022, recording a decrease of 4.68% over the last three-month average share.

1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 66.8% in June 2022, registering a 16.11% growth over the previous month.

2) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations claimed a 12.74% share, an increase of 73.68% over the previous month.

3) Computer and Information Analysts held a share of 10.42%, registering a 3.85% rise from May 2022.

4) Database and Network Administrators and Architects captured a share of 8.88%, up 43.75% over the previous month.

Top five apparel companies in Germany’s IT recruitment activity in June 2022

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 82.48% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Germany’s apparel industry during June 2022 over May 2022.

REWE Group posted 160 IT jobs in June 2022 and registered a flat growth over the previous month, followed by Zalando with 48 jobs and a 42.17% drop. Schwarz Unternehmenskommunikation GmbHKG with 24 IT jobs and Lotte with 9 jobs, recorded a 40% decline and a 125% growth, respectively, while Inter IKEA Holding recorded a decline of 10% with 9 job postings during June 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in June 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 76.83%, up by 35.37% from May 2022. Mid Level positions with an 11.2% share, registered a decline of 21.62% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 10.81% share, down 6.67% over May 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 1.16%, recording a month-on-month decline of 25%.
