The industry’s overall hiring is decreased by 3.05% in July 2022 when compared with June 2022.

Out of the apparel industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 28.64% share in July 2022, recording a decrease of 0.48% over the last three-month average share.

1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 70.78% in July 2022, registering a 23.26% decline over the previous month.

2) Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a 16.39% share, an increase of 31.08% over the previous month.

3) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations held a share of 7.6%, registering a 16.67% decline from June 2022.

4) Computer and Information Analysts captured a share of 4.05%, up 41.18% over the previous month.

Top five apparel companies in India’s IT recruitment activity in July 2022

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average decline of 15.23% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of India’s apparel industry during July 2022 over June 2022.

Amazon posted 448 IT jobs in July 2022 and registered a drop of 23.94% over the previous month, followed by Target with 56 jobs and a 69.7% growth. adidas with 39 IT jobs and NIKE with 11 jobs, recorded an 1850% growth and a 69.44% decrease, respectively, while Chalhoub Group recorded an increase of 166.67% with 8 job postings during July 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in July 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 43.92%, down by 20.97% from June 2022. Entry Level positions with a 41.72% share, registered a decline of 2.37% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Mid Level job ads with a 14.36% share, down 26.09% over June 2022.
