October 2022 has seen a decrease of 16.33% in the overall hiring activity when compared with September 2022.
IT jobs accounted for a 15.53% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in October 2022, registering a decrease of 2.14% over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in October 2022
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Middle East & Africa with a share of 50% in October 2022, a 77.78% drop over the previous month. Database and Network Administrators and Architects came in next, claiming a share of 25% in October 2022, marking a flat month-on-month increase. In the third place was Computer and Information Analysts with a share of 11.11% in October 2022, a flat growth from September 2022.
Miscellaneous Computer Occupations registered a share of 5.56% in October 2022, a 50% decline over the previous month.
Top five apparel companies in Middle East & Africa’s IT recruitment activity in October 2022
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average decline of 64.71% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Middle East & Africa’s apparel industry during October 2022 over previous month.
Amazon posted 17 IT jobs in October 2022 and registered a decline of 73.85% over the previous month, followed by Foschini Group with 4 jobs and a 42.86% drop. Inter IKEA Holding with 4 IT jobs and Veepee with 3 jobs, recorded a 100% rise and a 72.73% drop, respectively, while Chanel recorded a flat growth with 2 job postings during October 2022.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Middle East & Africa’s apparel industry
Israel commanded a leading presence in the region’s apparel industry IT hiring activity with a 41.67% share in October 2022, a 70.59% decrease over September 2022. South Africa featured next with a 27.78% share, down 75% over the previous month. Saudi Arabia recorded an 11.11% share, a growth of 300% compared with September 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in October 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 47.22%, down by 76.39% from September 2022. Entry Level positions with a 30.56% share, registered a decline of 21.43% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Mid Level job ads with a 22.22% share, down 52.94% over September 2022.
