May 2022 has seen an increase of 8.16% in the overall hiring activity when compared with April 2022.
IT jobs accounted for a 12.49% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in May 2022, registering a decrease of 0.98% over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in May 2022
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Middle East & Africa with a share of 69.49% in May 2022, a 51.19% drop over the previous month. Database and Network Administrators and Architects came in next, claiming a share of 15.25% in May 2022, marking a 125% month-on-month increase. In the third place was Computer Support Specialists with a share of 6.78% in May 2022, a 20% drop from April 2022.
Computer and Information Research Scientists registered a share of 5.08% in May 2022, a 25% decline over the previous month.
Top five apparel companies in Middle East & Africa’s IT recruitment activity in May 2022
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average decline of 36.67% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Middle East & Africa’s apparel industry during May 2022 over previous month.
Amazon posted 29 IT jobs in May 2022 and registered a decline of 53.23% over the previous month, followed by Inter IKEA Holding with 20 jobs and a 23.08% drop. Foschini Group with 4 IT jobs and Mr. Price Group with 3 jobs, recorded a 100% rise and a flat growth, respectively, while Pick n Pay Stores recorded a flat growth with 1 job postings during May 2022.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Middle East & Africa’s apparel industry
Niger commanded a leading presence in the region’s apparel industry IT hiring activity with a 33.9% share in May 2022, a 23.08% decrease over April 2022. South Africa featured next with a 32.2% share, down 20.83% over the previous month. Israel recorded a 16.95% share, a drop of 60% compared with April 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in May 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 67.8%, down by 45.95% from April 2022. Mid Level positions with a 27.12% share, registered a decline of 23.81% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 5.08% share, down 57.14% over April 2022.
