June 2022 has seen a decrease of 7.74% in the overall hiring activity when compared with May 2022.

IT jobs accounted for a 16.51% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in June 2022, registering a decrease of 0.82% over the last three-month average share.

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in June 2022

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Middle East & Africa with a share of 69.14% in June 2022, an 8.2% drop over the previous month. Computer and Information Analysts came in next, claiming a share of 9.88% in June 2022, marking a 100% month-on-month increase. In the third place was Computer and Information Research Scientists with a share of 8.64% in June 2022, a 133.33% rise from May 2022.

Top five apparel companies in Middle East & Africa’s IT recruitment activity in June 2022

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average decline of 7.06% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Middle East & Africa’s apparel industry during June 2022 over previous month.

Amazon posted 41 IT jobs in June 2022 and registered a decline of 8.89% over the previous month, followed by Inter IKEA Holding with 20 jobs and a 33.33% drop. Foschini Group with 12 IT jobs and Pick n Pay Stores with 3 jobs, recorded a 140% rise and a 25% drop, respectively, while eBay recorded a 200% increase with 3 job postings during June 2022.

Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Middle East & Africa’s apparel industry

South Africa commanded a leading presence in the region’s apparel industry IT hiring activity with a 43.21% share in June 2022, a 6.06% increase over May 2022. Niger featured next with a 24.69% share, down 28.57% over the previous month. Jordan recorded a 12.35% share, a growth of 233.33% compared with May 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in June 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 54.32%, down by 30.16% from May 2022. Mid Level positions with a 29.63% share, registered a growth of 14.29% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 16.05% share, up 62.5% over May 2022.
