June 2022 has seen a decrease of 8.43% in the overall hiring activity when compared with May 2022.
IT jobs accounted for a 7.35% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in June 2022, registering an increase of 0.76% over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in June 2022
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in North America with a share of 83.12% in June 2022, a 0.76% drop over the previous month. Database and Network Administrators and Architects came in next, claiming a share of 8.27% in June 2022, marking a 20.87% month-on-month increase. In the third place was Miscellaneous Computer Occupations with a share of 4.16% in June 2022, a 30% rise from May 2022.
Computer and Information Analysts registered a share of 2.62% in June 2022, a 9.56% decline over the previous month.
Top five apparel companies in North America’s IT recruitment activity in June 2022
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 3.12% in the overall IT recruitment activity of North America’s apparel industry during June 2022 over previous month.
Amazon posted 3,900 IT jobs in June 2022 and registered an increase of 11.72% over the previous month, followed by Walmart with 300 jobs and a 13.04% drop. Dollar Tree with 113 IT jobs and NIKE with 58 jobs, recorded a 65.02% drop and a 36.96% drop, respectively, while eBay recorded a 35% increase with 54 job postings during June 2022.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in North America’s apparel industry
The US commanded a leading presence in the region’s apparel industry IT hiring activity with a 98.44% share in June 2022, a 9.22% increase over May 2022. Mexico featured next with a 0.72% share, up 21.43% over the previous month. Canada recorded a 0.72% share, a drop of 91.28% compared with May 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in June 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 48.52%, up by 4.79% from May 2022. Entry Level positions with a 34.29% share, registered a growth of 1.45% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Mid Level job ads with 17.11% share, down 9.57% over May 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 0.09%, recording a month-on-month decline of 42.86%.
