Japan-based company Rakuten Group’s IT hiring rose 4.9% in May 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The company’s overall hiring activity increased by 4.07% in May 2022 when compared with April 2022.

IT jobs claimed an 11.08% share in the company’s total hiring activity in May 2022, and recorded a 0.11% growth over the last three-month average share.

 

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers tops Rakuten Group IT hiring in May 2022

Out of the total IT job titles posted by Rakuten Group, Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers emerged as the leading occupation, recording a share of 75% in May 2022, and a 14.29% drop over April 2022, while Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a share of 12.5% in May 2022, and registered growth of 50%. Computer Support Specialists held a share of 8.33% in May 2022, a flat growth from April 2022.

North America drives IT hiring at Rakuten Group

North America emerged as the leading region in the global apparel IT hiring activity in May 2022 with a 50% share, which marked a 45.45% drop over the previous month.

Asia-Pacific stood next with 37.5%, registering a 350% month-on-month growth. Europe was the third leading region with a 12.5% share and a 25% drop over April 2022.

The US commanded a leading presence in the region’s apparel industry IT hiring activity with a 37.5% share in May 2022, a 40% decline over April 2022. Japan featured next with a 29.17% share, up 250% over the previous month. Canada recorded a 12.5% share, a decline of 57.14% compared with April 2022.

Junior Level jobs lead Rakuten Group IT hiring activity in May 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 62.5%, down by 6.25% from April 2022. Mid Level positions with a 20.83% share, a growth of 66.67% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 16.67% share, down 55.56% over April 2022.
