South & Central America witnessed a 12.4% drop in IT hiring activity in the apparel industry in June 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics dashboard.
June 2022 has seen a decrease of 7.13% in the overall hiring activity when compared with May 2022.
IT jobs accounted for a 9.91% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in June 2022, registering a decrease of 0.6% over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in June 2022
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in South & Central America with a share of 58.82% in June 2022, a 35.48% drop over the previous month. Database and Network Administrators and Architects came in next, claiming a share of 23.53% in June 2022, marking a 60% month-on-month decline. In the third place was Computer and Information Analysts with a share of 8.82% in June 2022, a flat growth from May 2022.
Miscellaneous Computer Occupations registered a share of 5.88% in June 2022, a 66.67% decline over the previous month.
Top five apparel companies in South & Central America’s IT recruitment activity in June 2022
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average flat growth in the overall IT recruitment activity of South & Central America’s apparel industry during June 2022 over previous month.
Amazon posted 28 IT jobs in June 2022 and registered a decline of 45.1% over the previous month, followed by Carrefour with 4 jobs and a flat growth. Chalhoub Group with 1 IT job and adidas with 1 jobs, recorded a flat growth and a 75% drop, respectively, while recorded a flat growth with job postings during June 2022.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in South & Central America’s apparel industry
Brazil commanded a leading presence in the region’s apparel industry IT hiring activity with a 67.65% share in June 2022, a 32.35% decrease over May 2022. Haiti featured next with an 11.76% share, flat growth over the previous month. Chile recorded an 11.76% share, a growth of 100% compared with May 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in June 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 64.71%, down by 26.67% from May 2022. Mid Level positions with a 23.53% share, registered a decline of 65.22% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with an 11.76% share, down 42.86% over May 2022.
