July 2022 has seen a decrease of 2.55% in the overall hiring activity when compared with June 2022.

IT jobs accounted for a 10.2% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in July 2022, registering a decrease of 0.29% over the last three-month average share.

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in July 2022

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in South & Central America with a share of 65.79% in July 2022, a 6.38% rise over the previous month. Database and Network Administrators and Architects came in next, claiming a share of 21.05% in July 2022, marking an 11.11% month-on-month decline. In the third place was Computer and Information Analysts with a share of 7.89% in July 2022, a 50% rise from June 2022.

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average flat growth in the overall IT recruitment activity of South & Central America’s apparel industry during July 2022 over previous month.

Amazon posted 71 IT jobs in July 2022 and registered a decline of 2.74% over the previous month, followed by adidas with 4 jobs and a 300% growth. Puma with 1 IT job and with jobs, recorded a flat growth and a flat growth, respectively, while recorded a flat growth with job postings during July 2022.

Country-wise composition of IT hiring in South & Central America’s apparel industry

Brazil commanded a leading presence in the region’s apparel industry IT hiring activity with a 52.63% share in July 2022, a flat growth over June 2022. Colombia featured next with a 27.63% share, up 250% over the previous month. Costa Rica recorded a 9.21% share, a drop of 61.11% compared with June 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in July 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 61.84%, down by 12.96% from June 2022. Mid Level positions with a 32.89% share, registered a growth of 19.05% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 5.26% share, flat growth over June 2022.
