August 2022 has seen a decrease of 6.34% in the overall hiring activity when compared with July 2022.
IT jobs accounted for a 10.52% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in August 2022, registering an increase of 0.18% over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in August 2022
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in South & Central America with a share of 90.91% in August 2022, a 20% rise over the previous month. Computer and Information Analysts came in next, claiming a share of 4.55% in August 2022, marking a 50% month-on-month decline. In the third place was Database and Network Administrators and Architects with a share of 3.03% in August 2022, an 88.24% drop from July 2022.

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average decline of 8.33% in the overall IT recruitment activity of South & Central America’s apparel industry during August 2022 over previous month.
Amazon posted 32 IT jobs in August 2022 and registered a decline of 55.56% over the previous month, followed by CCC with 31 jobs and a flat growth. Italic with 1 IT job and Carrefour with 1 jobs, recorded a flat growth and a flat growth, respectively, while Chalhoub Group recorded a flat growth with 1 job postings during August 2022.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in South & Central America’s apparel industry
Colombia commanded a leading presence in the region’s apparel industry IT hiring activity with a 46.97% share in August 2022, a 47.62% increase over July 2022. Brazil featured next with a 46.97% share, down 24.39% over the previous month. Haiti recorded a 1.52% share, a flat growth compared with July 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in August 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 78.79%, up by 8.33% from July 2022. Mid Level positions with a 13.64% share, registered a decline of 64% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 7.58% share, up 25% over July 2022.
