Sweden’s apparel industry IT recruitment activity drops 6.8% in October 2022

Sweden’s apparel industry registered a 6.8% drop in IT hiring activity in October 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The industry’s overall hiring increased by 2.8% in October 2022 when compared with September 2022.

Out of the apparel industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 4.22% share in October 2022, recording a decrease of 0.04% over the last three-month average share.

Top five job classifications in Sweden’s apparel industry’s IT recruitment activity in October 2022

Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 100% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Sweden’s apparel industry in October 2022.

1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 59.57% in October 2022, registering a 48.15% decline over the previous month.

2) Computer and Information Research Scientists claimed a 23.4% share, an increase of 83.33% over the previous month.

3) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations held a share of 10.64%, registering a 44.44% decline from September 2022.

4) Database and Network Administrators and Architects captured a share of 6.38%, down 70% over the previous month.

Top five apparel companies in Sweden’s IT recruitment activity in October 2022

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average flat growth share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Sweden’s apparel industry during October 2022 over September 2022.

Inter IKEA Holding posted 34 IT jobs in October 2022 and registered a drop of 30.61% over the previous month, followed by H & M Hennes & Mauritz with 10 jobs and a 50% drop. Amazon with 2 IT jobs and Zalando with 1 jobs, recorded an 87.5% decline and a flat growth.

Junior Level job postings dominate in October 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 59.57%, down by 55.56% from September 2022. Mid Level positions with a 36.17% share, registered an increase of 21.43% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 4.26% share, down 80% over September 2022.
