The industry’s overall hiring is decreased by 1.7% in August 2022 when compared with July 2022.

Out of the apparel industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 5.73% share in August 2022, recording a decrease of 0.79% over the last three-month average share.

Top five apparel companies in the US’s IT recruitment activity in August 2022

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 14.96% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the US’s apparel industry during August 2022 over July 2022.

Amazon posted 2,985 IT jobs in August 2022 and registered a rise of 18.22% over the previous month, followed by Walmart with 238 jobs and a 17.36% drop. eBay with 68 IT jobs and NIKE with 65 jobs, recorded a 22.73% decline and an 8.33% growth, respectively, while Neiman Marcus Group LTD recorded a flat growth with 48 job postings during August 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in August 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 49.28%, up by 16.31% from July 2022. Entry Level positions with a 32.39% share, registered an increase of 33.22% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Mid Level job ads with 18.24% share, down 16.29% over July 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 0.08%, recording a month-on-month increase of 50%.
