Organisers of the Asia Pacific Leather Fair (APLF) and related shows are expanding the events in 2020 to offer more opportunities for buyers to see a wider range of products and services.
The Hong Kong events offer buyers the chance to visit four shows concurrently – APLF-Leather, APLF-Materials+, Fashion Access and Cashmere World. Together they cover the whole leather and fashion supply chains, and are supplemented by year-round programmes including an online sourcing platform, Understanding Leather courses, and the Leather Naturally sustainability programme.
The exhibition space dedicated to the leather industry on Level 1 of the Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre (HKCEC) has been sold out for some time, organisers say, so they plan to relocate APLF-Leather from Level 1 to a larger space on Level 3.
The configuration will also offer an opportunity for the product zones to be re-grouped to make it easier for buyers to navigate the fair according to their sourcing needs, in particular for sustainable materials.
As part of the changes, the fairs that occupy Level 3 – Materials+, Fashion Access and Cashmere World – will move to Level 1.
This will fundamentally shift the fairs from a leather focus to a fashion oriented group of fairs that will attract not only leather buyers but also new fashion designers, reconnecting them all to the leather supply chain.
