BRAZIL: Jauense To Spend R$11m On Denim Expansion
Sao Paulo-based denim manufacturer Campanhia Jauense Industial is to spend R$11 million on modernising its plant with the long-term aim of expanding its product line, increasing productivity and boosting exports. One of the main areas of investment will be on new finishing equipment. Revenues at the firm have fallen from R$130 million in 1999 to about $R$120 million in 2000 and 2001, and the export market is seen as key to making up some of this shortfall.
