Canada: Dupont Releases Quarterly Figures
Du Pont Canada said today that its nylon enterprises sales rose 6 per cent in the second quarter to C$218m, due to "excellent manufacturing performance, higher volume and increased prices for some products." Specialty fibres sales rose 17 per cent in the quarter to C$59m, led by a 61 per cent increase in sales of Kevlar and Nomex aramid fibres. Earnings for this segment reached C$5.8m, a 37 per cent increase over a year earlier.
