CHINA: Scientists Create Radiation Resistant Garment
Chinese scientists have developed a garment with a high resistance to ultraviolet and electromagnetic waves, the Industrial Fabrics Association reported today. The garment is made from a fibre that can be interwoven with anti-radiation material, said Yang Jianzhong, a scientist at the Xi'an New and High-tech Development Zone in northwest China's Shaanxi Province. The anti-radiation material is dissolved in fibre which is then capable of resisting 95 per cent of ultraviolet and electromagnetic waves. The material can be used for making shirts, skirts and T-shirts and will not irritate the skin, Jianzhong claimed.
